Red Deer County Protective Services staff are responsible for the coordination and provision of Fire, Patrol, and Emergency Management Services throughout Red Deer County.

Ambulance Services (Emergency Medical Services (EMS))
On April 1, 2009, governance of ambulance service was transferred from municipalities to Alberta Health Services (AHS). Currently, three ambulance providers (Guardian, Lakeside and Red Deer Emergency Services) have agreements with AHS and continue to provide service in Red Deer County.
