Red Deer County Fire Services responds to structure fire near Kevisville, AB

On January 19, 2012, shortly after 3:00 AM, Red Deer County Fire - Spruce View Station, assisted by the Caroline Fire Department, responded to a structure fire near Kevisville, Alberta. On arrival crews found an abandoned dairy barn on fire. The fire was quickly brought under control, however it had done extensive damage to the structure. No Injury to people or livestock was reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but is believed to have started from a small space heater in the building. No damage estimates are available at this time. Red Deer County Fire Services reminds everyone to use caution when using portable heating devices including thermal tape by keeping combustibles clear of any direct heat. Kevisville is about 10km west of Spruce View in Red Deer County.
