Red Deer County has launched its latest tool to generate business activity in the municipality. The business development tool is a unique website, which can be accessed by anyone interested in starting a business in the County. The tool, which can be found under the Business and Lifestyle heading on the County website (https://rdcounty.ecdev.org), shows available locations, local industry trends, demographic information, and valuable business links all in a one stop shop environment.By visiting this webpage, businesses can find out if specific locations are affected by offsite levy fees, development fees, and incentives for where businesses are looking to operate. Furthermore, businesses can search by industry in order to evaluate potential customers and analyze the competitors within their specified industry. There is also a map that provides locations of customers within the County.According to Director of Planning and Development Services Dave Dittrick, “The importance of business locators cannot be stressed enough. Red Deer County is committed to providing the best and most current information possible to assist in businesses in location selection.”The business development tool will be a fixture of the recent economic development strategy unveiled by Red Deer County. Council approved the strategy in early 2017, and will continue to solicit feedback from the business community.
