Red Deer County Council participates in a 10 year FCSS Multi-Municipal Agreement. For decades, Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has been working as a provincial-municipal government initiative to enhance the social well-being of individuals, families and community in an effort to keep people resilient, well, and from falling into crisis.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt presented by Bowden Volunteer Fire Department, Sunday, April 16 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Bowden Fire Hall on Main Street. For children Pre-K to Grade 4.
Volunteer Appreciation Supper for Bowden and Area on Wed. April 26, doors open at 5:30 PM. At Bowden Lions Hall. Dinner, prizes, and FUN!

Lifeline with Auto-Alert offers all the benefits of our Standard Lifeline Medical Alert Service – push the button for help at any time – plus an added layer of protection: Lifeline with Auto-Alert is the only pendant-style help button than can automatically place a call for help if it detects a fall and you are unable to push the button yourself. Delburne Community Kitchen – A group of individuals who meet once a month to cook healthy, nutritious and budget friendly meals. April planning session is April 3 and cooking session is Saturday, April 8 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Cost is $40 each, registration and pre-payment required by April 3. Healthy Breakfast Program at Delburne Centralized School has been operating for 17 years! The program is not intended to replace breakfast for all the children, but rather, it is for those who, for whatever reason, arrive at school hungry. To donate or volunteer, contact Carol, FCSS, at 403.749.3654.
Moms & Tots – meets every Wednesday, 9:00 AM at Delburne United Church. Pine Lake meets every second Thursday, 9:30 AM in the Pine Lake Hub Centre.
Delburne Playschool – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, St. Michael’s Catholic Church basement. For more information, contact Carole, 403.340.6822.
SEEDS (Sharing, Educating, Exploring, Discovering & Singing) – Free family literacy program for parents and children, newborns to 6 years. Mondays (April 3 and 10) from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, in Delburne Play School, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church basement.
Delburne Community Garden – Plot rental (4’ x 8’), raised or lower beds is $20 each, first-come, first-served. Contact Carol, 403.749.3654 to book your plot. Join our Facebook page: Delburne Garden of Eat’n. We are in partnership with On Earth Gardens & Design, local greenhouse in Lousana, to offer starter plant packages that have been selected specifically for our area and space available.

Elnora Boys and Girls Club – Kids Club for ages 6 to 12 meet on Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Elnora Drop-In. Ages 13 to 17 meet Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elnora Youth Center. For more information, call Heather at 403.342.6500, Ext. 142.

Playgroup – Wednesdays at Penhold Memorial Hall (1123 Fleming Avenue) 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM. Drop in is $2 and $1 every additional child, babies are free. Springbrook Archery Club – Shoot times have changed! Thursday and Friday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Club is available for private bookings and parties. Springbrook Community SkatePark Committee – Fundraising in full swing for the new park. Looking for people with experience in grant writing and to assist with our big summer event in late June. Next meeting is April 19 at 7:00 PM, Springbrook Fire Hall.
Youth Programs -- Boys and Girls Club runs youth programs for ages 6 and up, every Monday afternoon/evening starting at 4:30 PM in Building 14. Call Heather at 403.342.6500 for details.
Parent Link Centre runs programs Monday mornings, Thursday afternoons, and most Wednesdays for children under 6 in Building 14. Call Lindsay at 403.505.2590 for details.
Springbrook Community Garden – Taking registrations now for 2017 gardening season. New for 2017 – raised beds, ideal for those with mobility issues. Spring Work Bee, Clean Up, and Garden Raising on April 29-30.
Spring Sports – Recreational soccer programs for children ages 2 to 12, Tuesday events from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM for six weeks starting May 16. Volunteer coaches needed.
Registration starts April 11 and 18 at the Multiplex from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM or 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON at the Fire Hall on April 18 & 25. $20 per child.
