You’ll be keeping your water supply safe!

Through the Safe Water Wells Initiative, up to $800 is available to purchase plugging materials and up to $200 is available to cover 50% of labour costs for a maximum refund of $1000 to plug your wells.

The new program was designed to specifically help landowners with plugging deeper and larger wells since the old program often did not provide much assistance. Provincial Legislation states that it is the well owner’s responsibility to plug wells that are no longer used. These wells pose are risk to everyone’s drinking water!

Your Agricultural Service Board (ASB) & Council recognizes the need and importance of addressing this issue and they want to provide assistance in the form of reclamation information & procedures, help with the growing forward program, & financial compensation through our new Safe Water Wells Initiative.
