Red Deer County Council participates in a 10 year FCSS Multi-Municipal Agreement. For decades, Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has been working as a provincial-municipal government initiative to enhance the social wellbeing of individuals, families and community in an effort to keep people resilient, well, and from falling into crisis.

East Red Deer County Early Childhood Development Information Fair – Friday, March 24 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON at Delburne Community Hall. For more information, contact Carol Kihn, FCSS, 403.749.3654.
Delburne Aging Well Society – St. Patrick’s Supper on Saturday, March 18, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Delburne Drop-In Centre. Adults are $12; tickets available at ATB or call Sandy, 403.749.2790.
Delburne Community Kitchen – A group of individuals who meet once a month to cook healthy, nutritious and budget-friendly meals. Next session is Saturday, March 11 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Healthy Breakfast Program at Delburne Centralized School has been operating for 17 years! The program is not intended to replace breakfast for all the children, but rather, it is for those who, for whatever reason, arrive at school hungry. Moms & Tots – meets every Wednesday, 9:00 AM at Delburne Drop-In Centre. Pine Lake meets every second Thursday, 9:00 AM in the Pine Lake Hub Centre.
Delburne Playschool – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, St. Michael’s Catholic Church basement. For more information, contact Carole, 403.340.6822.
SEEDS – Free family literacy program for parents and children, newborns to 6 years. Mondays (March 6 and 20) from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, in Delburne Play School Room,
at St. Michael’s Catholic Church basement.
Delburne Boys & Girls Club – Kids Club for ages 6 to 12 after school every Thursday at Delburne Centralized School until 5:30 PM. Ages 13 to 17 meet every Thursday. First Thursday of every month has a lunch-time program at the school during the youth’s lunch break. Every other Thursday runs from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Arts Room at the school.

Playgroup – Wednesdays at Penhold Memorial Hall (1123 Fleming Avenue) 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM. Drop in is $2 and $1 every additional child, babies are free. Program is for ages 0-5, a safe, fun environment for your child to learn socialization through play. March 1,15, 22, 29, April 5, 12, 26.
Movie Day “Sing”, on March 18 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Penhold Multiplex Gym. Admission by Food Bank donation. Snacks for sale with proceeds to Penhold Youth Club.
Women’s Day Out on March 25 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Memorial Hall. Tickets are $10 with breakfast and lunch included. Enjoy this day and listen to two speakers on empowerment and self-care. Have fun belly dancing and listen to a session on how to dress for your body type by Cheeky Coutures. End the day with a movie, “Mom’s Night
Babysitter’s Course for 10 to 15 years – Saturday, April 1 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Penhold Multiplex, Second Floor Subway Club Room. Certified Red Cross instructor teaching the course. $50 per child, pay at Penhold Town Office or register online at

Springbrook Archery Club – Shoot times have changed! Thursday and Friday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Club is available for private bookings and parties. Located downstairs through south entrance of Springbrook Multiplex. New archers welcome! Equipment available for use. 2017 memberships available now. Spring leagues start in March, call for info.
Springbrook Community Skate Park Committee – Fundraising in full swing for the new park. Looking for people with experience in grant writing and fundraising to help our team. Meetings on March 1 and 15 at 7:00 PM, Springbrook Fire Hall.
Youth Programs – Boys and Girls Club runs youth programs for ages 6 and up, every Monday afternoon/evening starting at 4:30 PM in Building 14. Call 403.342.6500 for details.

Springbrook Community Garden – Garden meeting on March 6 at 6:30 PM, Springbrook Fire Station. Looking for new committee members and gardeners. New for 2017 – raised beds, ideal for those with mobility issues. Spring Work Bee, Garden raising and planting day TBA. March 8 at 6:30 PM, Springbrook Fire Hall, is brainstorming meeting regarding Good Food Box Program.
