Red Deer County announces Day Use Areas open May 6

Red Deer County is pleased to announce that all County Day Use Areas will seasonally open to the public on May 6. However, washrooms and group use facilities within the Day Use Areas will remain closed in collaboration with the Government of Alberta’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

County Day Use Areas include:

  • Taunton Hills Day Use Area at Pine Lake
  • The Joffre Bridge Day Use Area
  • A Soo Wuh Um Day Use Area near Penhold

At this time, the County would like to remind the public that playgrounds, community centres, and recreation facilities remain closed. Day Use Areas will operate in accordance with the best practices set by Alberta Health Services prohibiting large gatherings of people and promoting physical distancing. Once again, Red Deer County appreciates the patience of our residents and visitors.
