2020 National Volunteer Week was April 19 to 25, and this year’s theme was “It’s time to applaud this country’s volunteers.”
During these extraordinary times, Red Deer County would like to recognize the countless volunteers who are so valued and give countless hours and support to the organizations they serve. Red Deer County depends on volunteers to keep the many Community Facilities and Cemeteries in operation, as well as Recreation and Culture Boards, community associations, Agricultural Societies, Libraries, Rural Crime Watch Associations, Central Alberta Amateur Radio Club, Search and Rescue and the Adopt-A-Road Program.
Red Deer County recognizes all their volunteers are absolutely essential. The Volunteer Appreciation Event, originally planned for April 8, is postponed to later date, when it is safe for everyone to get together for a much-deserved celebration!
