The Know to Grow program – an initiative from Red Deer County – would like to thank the members of the public who completed the recent engagement survey and took part in logo contest. Based on feedback from the survey, decisions will be made on where, when, and how to best connect Red Deer residents with local farmers and ranchers.
According to Know to Grow Coordinator Aimee Delaney, “With a focus on people, it’s all about connecting urban folks with their rural neighbors, helping each other see ourselves for what we are: people with shared values, interests and goals. Through the relationships built, we believe that perceptions about agriculture can change.”
The program has also launched a Facebook group that will allow members of the public to ask questions and exchange ideas and learn about agriculture. The group will also provide information on the events that are planned for 2020. Find our group on Facebook: Know to Grow: Connect – Relate - Cultivate.
