Section 304(3) of the Municipal Government Act states that the assessed person is responsible for notifying the municipality of the correct address to which property assessment notices and tax notices are mailed.
Red Deer County’s official source for property ownership information, including mailing addresses for assessment notices and tax notices, is the Certificate of Title as registered with the Province of Alberta Land Titles Office.
Mailing address changes can be reported to Red Deer County, however, address changes made with Red Deer County do not get reported to the Alberta Land Titles Office. To change information at the Alberta Land Titles Office, changes must be reported to them directly by the property owner.
We strongly encourage property owners to update their mailing address with Alberta Land Titles. This ensures any documentation regarding your property will be sent to the correct mailing address by the Alberta Land Titles Office, and that your property ownership information is up-to-date. Red Deer County will also be updated as the County receives notice of changes to title electronically from the Alberta Land Title office.

At Red Deer County:
Please complete and submit a Red Deer County Change of Address Form. Forms are available at the County office, or can be accessed on the Red Deer County website at www.rdcounty.ca under Forms. Completed Change of Address forms can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, faxed to 403-346-9840, mailed, or submitted in person at the County office.
