On July 23, 2018 (weather dependent), the frontage road along Gasoline Alley West (between the businesses and Highway 2) will be permanently closed by Alberta Transportation to accommodate additional lanes on Highway 2.Access to all businesses along Gasoline Alley West will be maintained via the new southbound collector-distributor road and the Leva Avenue roundabout to the north, and via McKenzie Road to the south. Motorists are invited to visit www.transportation.alberta.ca/roundabouts.htm for useful information on roundabouts, including how to safely navigate them.Signage on both ends of Gasoline Alley West, as well as directional signs along the highway, will alert motorists to this change in access.Alberta Transportation is currently working with Red Deer County to provide an alternate commercial truck rest area, which is anticipated to open later this year. More details will be shared as they become available.The Highway 2 / Gaetz Avenue Interchange is scheduled to be complete in fall 2018, weather permitting.
