Dickson Dam - Public Notice of Roadway Closures

Dickson Dam (1)

The spillway gates at Dickson Dam are approaching the end of their service life, and Alberta Environment and Parks has decided to replace the gates before further deterioration occurs. Kiewit Construction Services ULC has been contracted to replace the spillway gates in the late summer and fall of 2018.

Dickson Dam is situated adjacent to Township Rd 360 and Gleniffer Lake, approximately 20 minutes west of Innisfail.

Project Schedule:
- Kiewit will mobilize to site on July 3, 2018
- Kiewit plans to complete the project and vacate the site in early December 2018

During the replacement of the spillway gates, there will be several full and partial closures of the roadway across the dam, part of Township Rd 360. To ensure the construction progresses safely and on schedule, please consider the following, and thank you in advance for your cooperation.
- There will be approximately 20 two-day full roadway closures of Township Rd 360 during the project, starting on August 2, 2018 and continuing into December 2018.
- During each full roadway closure, Township Rd 360 will be closed from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM for two consecutive days. The road will reopen for public use overnight.
- These roadway closures will extend from the parking lot at the west end of Dickson Dam to the parking lot beside the Alberta Environment office at the east end of the dam. Both parking lots will remain open.
- There will be 3-7 days between the two day full roadway closures, during which time at least one lane of the roadway will be open to traffic.
- A detour route will be marked when the roadway is closed. The detour route is shown on the following page.
- Notice of full roadway closures will be posted on Alberta 511 and on the electronic message boards near the project site 2 weeks before each closure.

Please be aware that Single Lane Alternating Traffic will be in place for portions of the construction.

Kiewit Construction Services ULC appreciates your cooperation on this matter.
