Upcoming FCSS Events In Your Community


Red Deer County Council participates in a 10 year FCSS Multi-Municipal Agreement. For decades, Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has been working as a provincial-municipal government initiative to enhance the social wellbeing of individuals, families and community in an effort to keep people resilient, well, and from falling into crisis.

Benalto Leisure Club meets every Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Leisure Centre. A great way to get out and meet new people. Play some games, eat some food, and have fun. Everyone is welcome!
Benalto Play Group is every Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM at the County Building (former school). Free play and crafts for children ages 0 to 6 years. Grand opportunity to meet other Benalto families.
101st Benalto Rodeo – July 5 to 8.
Benalto Agricultural Society meets third Tuesday every month at 7:00 PM at Benalto Leisure Centre.
Benalto Booster Club meets second Tuesday every month at 7:30 PM. This club is responsible for many community activities and events. Come out and get involved!

Delburne Summer Youth Program – Two summer field trips at cost of $25 per child, parent volunteers required. Thursday, July 19 at Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. Wednesday, August 1 at Calaway Park.
Delburne Community Garden – Join our Facebook page: Delburne Garden of Eat’n. Community is welcome to visit the garden and see the fruits of our efforts. Volunteers are needed to mow the grass. If you have any spare time, feel free to help our community group. For more information, contact Linda, 403.304.4408. Seniors Week – Thank you for the community for helping make our week of celebration such a great success. Special thanks to Delburne Aging Well Society
and the local retail businesses that offered discounts to our seniors (60+) during the week.

Elnora Summer Fun Program - Is your child, youth or teen looking for some great summer activities? This program is looking for enthusiastic children and youth to join for July and August.
Elnora Lifeline administered by Elnora FCSS. For a minimal monthly fee, residents can access help 24 hours a day. Simply push the Lifeline Help Button to connect to a Response Centre.
Little Free Libraries - Elnora has three Little Libraries and all are full of books for all ages.

Penhold Youth Club offers summer programs for youth in grades 4 to 9 on Wednesdays and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Registration required before attending. Check out summer calendar on the “Penhold Youth Club – PYC” Facebook page.
FCSS Youth Trip to the Reynolds Museum in Wetaskiwin on Tuesday, July 24 from 8:45 AM to 4:30 PM. Cost is $15. Call Adrian - 403.350.9533 or Teresa - 403.886.3288 to register.
Hlinka Gretzky Cup – Tickets now on sale for Hlinka Gretzky Cup pre-game in Penhold on August 4! Pregame party in the Multiplex from 12:00 NOON to 3:00 PM for whole family to enjoy. Tickets available at
Dress for Success, Pop-Up Women’s Clothing Shop – Wednesday, August 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Penhold Multiplex. Join us to shop for some new-to-you outfits. No cost for these outfits; they are from Olds Community Lending Shelf. Donations of clothes for this event to be dropped off at Olds United Church for Olds Community Lending Shelf

Springbrook Archery Club – Summer hours start in June, open for drop-ins on Thursdays, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Club available for private bookings and parties. Located downstairs through south entrance of Springbrook Multiplex. New archers welcome! Call Donna at 403.573.4451 for information.
Summer Youth Program – Field trip to Reynolds Museum, July 24, cost is $15 per child or youth, ages 6 and up. Check the Springbrook Connects pages on Facebook for other youth activities or for more information.
Yoga in the Garden - Every Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM until August 23. Drop in is $4 or $25 for all season. Join instructor Michelle Brink in Springbrook Community Garden picnic area behind Springbrook Fire Hall. Beginners, children and youth welcome.
Shakespeare in the Garden – Sunday, July 29 at 7:00 PM. Join Prime Stock Theatre for special performance of “A Midsummers Night Dream,” complete with popcorn, beverages, and treats! Free performance, proceeds from concession to community garden. Bring your own blanket or chair.
