Red Deer County Council participates in a 10 year FCSS Multi-Municipal Agreement. For decades, Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has been working as a provincial-municipal government initiative to enhance the social well-being of individuals, families and community in an effort to keep people resilient, well, and from falling into crisis.

Delburne Summer Youth Program – Positions available for Program Coordinator and Assistant. Must be full-time student or registered in post-secondary. Job postings available on
Delburne Friendship Plates – New program launched to encourage neighbourliness. Two plates were circulated at Volunteer Appreciation event with hopes that residents will share with their neighbours and friends. To track the travelling plates, the sharing people are asked to sign the plate back with a permanent marker.
Lend a Hand Program is designed to offer assistance to someone that may need a helping hand. Tokens available at Village office or in both Free Little Libraries. Fill in with the service you are willing to offer, then deliver it to the person you want to help.
Seniors 55+ Cooking – Last cooking day until fall is Tuesday, May 8 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. To register, contact Donna, 403.749.2100.
Community Garden – Clean up happens Saturday, May 26 and planting day is Saturday, June 23.
Seniors Week Launch Luncheon – Tuesday, May 28 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, front lawn of Elk Haven Lodge. Mayor and Council will serve a free BBQ lunch to resident seniors 60 years and older.
Seniors Week is June 4 to 8 – Monday: Pancake Breakfast and Aging in Place Part 1 Workshop. Tuesday: Estate Planning Presentation. Wednesday: Painting Party. Thursday: Aging in Place Part 2 Workshop and Ice Cream Sundae Making. Friday: Arm Chair Exercises and Potluck Lunch followed by Music Jam Session.
Delburne and Area Interagency – Wednesday, May 30 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Drop-In Centre. Lunch is provided. Register by May 28.

Greenhouse Bus Tour – Thursday, May 10, leaving Elnora at 9:00 AM. Visiting six local greenhouses and returning at 6:30 PM.
Bike Rodeo – Thursday, May 17 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Elnora School.
Seniors Week Activities – Monday, June 4: Breakfast Bingo from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Elnora Ag. Thursday, June 7: Seniors Luncheon starting at 12:00 PM at Elnora Community Hall with an Alzheimer and Dementia presentation to follow. Friday, June 8: High Tea at Elnora Museum from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Wear your fanciest attire for this royal event.

Playgroup – Wednesdays at Penhold Memorial Hall from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM. $2 drop-in, $1 every additional child, babies are free. Program for ages 0-5, a safe, fun environment for your child to learn socialization through play. Schedule: May 2, 16, 23, 30 and June 6, 13, 20.
Seniors Week – Gerald Miller will be reading his cowboy poetry at Drop-In Centre on Tuesday, June 5 during regular coffee time which begins at 2:00 PM.
Home Alone Course – Friday, June 8 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Penhold Multiplex. Cost is $50. Register today at

Spring Sports Program – Looking for volunteers to help coach a fun youth sports program for ages 2 to 14. Knowledge of soccer and baseball / t-ball an asset but not required. 6 week commitment in May and June. Soccer is Tuesday evenings from May 15 to June 19 and ball is from May 17 to June 21. Late registrations accepted but not guaranteed up to program start date.
Yoga in the Garden starts June 7 at 6:00 PM, runs weekly until August 23. Drop in is $4 or $25 for all season. At the Springbrook Community Garden picnic area behind Springbrook Fire Hall. Beginners, children and youth welcome.
Special Events - Save the Dates! – Sunday, June 24 is Kickflip Into Summer Community Block Party and Fundraiser for new skatepark in Springbrook. Sunday, July 22 is free performance of Midsummers Night Dream.
