Green Acreages - Green Living Tip

Green Acreages - Painting.jpg

Fall is in the air and winter is on the way. Bird feeding and watching is one the joys of the winter season. Chickadees, woodpeckers, juncos, cedar waxwings, and nuthatches are all birds that call the parkland ecosystem home and that will readily visit feeders. You can help maintain and improve habitat opportunities for these birds and other wildlife on your property by protecting and building wooded areas.

These areas are even more valuable when you link them together with wooded corridors that allow wildlife to safely move from one area to another. A feeding station located along side a conifer for shelter and a well-branched tree or shrub for perching will be welcomed by a variety of winter-feeding birds.
